Overwhelming Bipartisan Support

Pat McDonough is a member of the Health and Government Operations Committee as well as the Joint Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. The 7th District lawmaker is a small business owner and President of Rallycorp, a communications and media company. Delegate Pat McDonough is a radio talk show host and producer on WCBM, public affairs analyst for Fox 45 TV News. Mr. McDonough was the Honorary Chairman on the successful petition drive to stop in-state tuition for Illegal Aliens.

The Maryland legislator is considered a national leader on illegal immigration issues and has appeared on the Bill O’Reilly Show, the Lou Dobbs Show, CNN, MSNBC, and public television and radio. Mr. McDonough is the primary sponsor of legislation mandating English as Maryland’s official language.

As a member of the Health and Government Operations Committee, Delegate McDonough has sponsored model legislation which now protects nursing home patients. He was co-sponsor of the law that prevented CareFirst BlueCross/BlueShield from leaving Maryland. He has received the John Shaw Award for promoting business and jobs in Maryland and the Taxpayers’ Advocate Award for voting against all tax increases.

Delegate Pat McDonough sparked national notoriety when he called for "Tough Action" against "Black Youth Mobs" that were terrorizing Baltimore City and the Inner Harbor. Although liberal types like The Baltimore City Mayor and the Baltimore Sun attacked Delegate McDonough he still received more than 3,000 letters and e-mails of support. A few demanded he apologize for his remarks but McDonough stayed the course and proclaimed "You never apologized for the Truth."

  • Chairman Stop the Rain Tax Committee. The Rain Tax was eventually reformed and repealed.
  • Sponsored legislation to repeal the controversial Common Core Program
  • Spoke out and voted against all anti second amendment legislation as an NRA member.
  • Defeated the 2014 Illegal alien amnesty Bill in the Maryland General assembly by one vote.
  • Produced and hosted a two hour radio special on Farm and Agricultural issues. Received the Maryland Farm Bureau endorsement.
  • Primary leader and sponsored of legislation to mandate English as Maryland’s official language.
  • Helped to lead the assistance of tropical storm Isabel victims by organizing five major town hall meetings.
